Smart Management Packs (SMPs) are Jalasoft's solution to extend Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007(Ops Mgr 2007) capabilities to monitor network devices. These management packs contain specific processing rule groups, computer groups, processing rules, notification groups, status views, topology views, performance counters, alerts, and ready-to-use knowledge for monitoring and managing supported network devices and servers.

Jalasoft’s SMP for Cisco Devices delivers enterprise-class operations management for Cisco devices as proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis, comprehensive event management, and reporting in Ops Mgr 2007, with the capability to monitor single interfaces as an object, simplifying the monitoring of devices with distributed applications or using extensions such as Savision Live Maps.

This management pack contains the ready-to-use knowledge for monitoring and managing Cisco Switches. Over 80 predefined rules are provided with the SMP for Cisco Devices in the form of management packs grouped in the following categories:

Deploying the SMP for Cisco Devices helps improve the availability and performance of Cisco Switches across the enterprise network, as the SMP includes rules and thresholds for monitoring and managing critical indicators and conditions related to the monitored devices. The SMP enables customers to proactively prevent or minimize conditions that could adversely affect the performance and availability of the Cisco Device.

The Cisco Device SMP is available for Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, VPNs and Wireless devices.
