Easy and Simple Monitoring of Network Performance directly from the Microsoft System Center Essentials Console

!!! If you have System Center Essential 2010 please contact sales !!!

Xian Network Manager Io (Xian Io) is a comprehensive systems management solution-set designed from the ground up to extend the robust capabilities of Microsoft System Center Essentials to network devices, UNIX servers and non-Microsoft applications like VMware VirtualCenter and MySQL.

Xian Io for SCE proactively discovers potential problems and bottlenecks and has the solution for all your network performance issues.  Through its connector, you may view the different components of your network devices as separate objects and add the critical interfaces of your network devices to a Distributed Application.  As a result, you will be able to troubleshoot the root causes even faster, and of course see all the performance data and alerts.

Thanks to the seamless integration between Xian Io and SCE, you may adjust heterogeneous devices rules directly from the System Center Essentials console with just one click on the Device Properties Task in the SCE Action Pane.

Features

System Center Essentials User Interface Integration

Now you can access most of the Xian Io functionality straight from the System Center Essentials Console.

Xian Io Console

The Xian Io console has many features; like custom views, rules renaming and easier rule wizards.

Linkable Policy Templates

Applying policy templates (a group of predefined rules) was never this easy. Now with only two clicks you not only add them to a large number of devices, you also link them. This makes it easy to change a rule on all the devices after you have applied a policy template.

Device Availability Rule

The Device Availability rules’ functionality include: Device Status and Response Time Counters and Alerts. Also includes Availability reports.

Automatic Device Update

Any changes that happen on your network or UNIX Environments (like interfaces, processes or names) will automatically be notified to Xian and the running rules.

Reports

To have more possibilities to analyze your performance counters, Xian Io has several reports to help you. Every Management Pack comes with over 100 build in Reports!

Architecture

Xian is a comprehensive network monitoring solution, designed to monitor performance, availability and reliability on the most common SNMP-based network devices.  Xian Io extends the management infrastructure of System Center Essentials by providing a set of Smart Management Packs (SMPs) delivering increased reliability, availability, and performance in network environments.

The following schema represents the Xian Io architecture and how it is integrated with the System Center Essentials environment.

NMS - Network Manager Server

A Windows service that monitors network devices and UNIX servers; for each supported device type, a specific Xian plug-in is required.

TS – Task Server

A service that manages Network Scan Tasks, executes them with the appropriate schedule, and also manages the Xian Syslog Server; only one instance of this component is usually required for most environments.

DS - Data Server

A Windows service that is used to provide read/write access to the Xian Database requested by the Xian Network Manager Server, Xian Task Server and the Xian Console.

Xian DB- Xian Database

Stores all persistent information required by the application including information related to plug-ins, rule templates, monitored devices, active rules, alerts, counters and more.

Xian Connector for System Center Essentials

A Windows service created to allow the migration of information about monitored devices (with the alerts and performance data generated in Xian rules), from the Xian Data Server to the System Center Essentials SDK.

Available Smart Management Packs

The Jalasoft Smart Management Packs provide the intelligence to organize, process, and analyze the information on monitored devices into the views, computer groups, and reporting capabilities of System Center Essentials 2007 using the Xian Connector.
