[Cochabamba, Bolivia] — Jalasoft proudly held its annual QE Days, a two-day internal event that brought together Quality Assurance (QA) professionals from across Latin America to share cutting-edge insights, showcase emerging technologies, and strengthen the company’s culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Quality Assurance (QA) testing is a fundamental aspect that shaped the company's inception. When Jalasoft was founded, its entire team comprised just six quality engineers (QEs) who laid the groundwork for Jalasoft's growth and success. Today, QA testing remains a vital pillar of Jalasoft's operations, reflecting its enduring importance and unwavering dedication to excellence. The Jala QE Days represent just one of the many avenues through which we uphold these high standards.
This year’s edition featured a diverse lineup of speakers from within Jalasoft and the broader QA community, covering topics that ranged from leadership development to AI-driven testing.
Day 1 Highlights: Leadership, Automation, and the Power of Generative AI
Wara Hermosa, Senior Lead of the Info Dev team, opened QE Days with “Senior Leadership: Tips, Tricks, and Lessons Learned.” Drawing from nearly a decade in technical communication, she empowered attendees with practical leadership advice, emphasizing clarity, trust, and career growth.
Cristina Valenzuela (Bolivia) and Andrés Nuñez (Colombia), both Manual QE Engineers, delivered an engaging session showcasing Leapwork, a no-code/low-code automation tool designed to make test automation accessible to all QA professionals, including those without programming backgrounds.
Enrique Nuñez, Core QA Manager with over 15 years at Jalasoft, explored the transformative impact of Generative AI for Writing Test Cases, including hands-on examples of prompt engineering, test generation, and creative experimentation with image and code creation.
Sebastián Medrano, Technical Lead at Jalasoft, addressed the intersection of AI and Business Leadership. His talk focused on fostering an AI-ready culture, the structural shifts required to adopt AI successfully, and the ethical implications of its implementation.
Day 2 Highlights: Microservices, Mobile Strategies, and the Future of Automation
Andrés Cox, QA Automation Engineer, presented a real-world use case of AI-generated end-to-end testing for a complex microservices-based Supply Chain & Logistics application, diving into API testing, performance testing, and integration validation.
Andrea Castro, a QA Manual Engineer with a decade of experience, provided a strategic roadmap for Mobile App Testing, outlining considerations such as device variability, OS differences, and tool selection.
César Vásquez, Senior Manual QE, demystified the Senior QE Regular Process, helping attendees better understand expectations and workflows in more advanced roles.
Alex García Acarapi inspired fellow testers with his session “Mutate or Die: The Evolution from Manual Tester to Automation Engineer,” sharing his personal journey, challenges, and key takeaways from transitioning to automation.
Finally, Darwin Castillo, Staff Quality Engineer, wrapped up the event with an impactful talk on AI-Driven Test Generation Meets Self-Healing Automation Pipelines. He highlighted tools like GPT-4, RESTler, and Healenium, and demonstrated how combining these technologies leads to intelligent, resilient testing systems aligned with modern DevOps practices.
QE Days continues to be a cornerstone event for Jalasoft, strengthening its commitment to technical excellence, collaborative learning, and leadership development in the QA domain. By combining innovative technologies with strong mentorship and career growth opportunities, Jalasoft is paving the way for the future of software quality.
Jalasoft's Practice Groups
The driving force behind this year's success was Jalasoft's QA Testing Practice Group, a team of dedicated professionals focused on shaping the career paths and profiles of QA and Automation experts.
They are also committed to recommending relevant training, certifications, and professional development opportunities. Looking ahead, Jalasoft's QA Practice Group plans to build on the success of this year's event by continuing to support the QA and automation community through ongoing educational initiatives and future events.
